It’s time for another FA Cup replay! FC United of Manchester were 3-0 down at home to Hyde but then decided to make a game of it equalising in the 95th minute making it 3-3 taking this game to tonight’s replay!
The prospect of a new tick for a Manchester derby is too good to turn down so it’s off on to the A57 through Glossop and into the ground with 15 minutes to spare before kick off. £14 to watch this game… Hmmm… Out come the teams! Winner faces Southport away, let’s go!
Kick Off! 4 minutes in and the ball is hit forward by Hyde and the keeper charges out… He gets there but it falls to Heath who goes for the lob with the keeper off his line… Over! “TIGERS HYDE!” Hyde fans in great spirits so far!
14 minutes now and Hyde play forward down the left, Heath cuts inside and shoots… Keeper parries and it’s set up beautifully for Redshaw to volley from the edge of the box… Saved again!
20th minute and FC United have a corner, it’s whipped in… Palinkas at the far post… Tipped over! Great reaction save! Corner again… Cleared!
28th minute and FC United come again, Fitzmartin gets into the box and he’s got space to shoot… OH! WHAT A SAVE!! Brilliant goalkeeping!
2 minutes later and FC United lump it forward and out comes the keeper… OH! He’s clattered into his own man and FC are in… Fitzmartin must score… NO! HE’S MISSED!! Oh dear…
34 minutes now and Hyde have a corner, it’s played in low for the shot… Scuffed but it falls nicely for Thompson… He makes space… AND HE PUTS IT HOME!!! Hyde lead!! 1-0!
“We woke the Tigers, we’re singing too loud! ROAR!” Great banter by the FC United fans there! “We can’t f***ing hear you!” The Hyde fans respond!
1 minute later and FC come again, it’s played out to the right of the box and Gabidon cuts onto his left and shoots… OFF THE POST!!! Hyde eventually clear. At half time it remains 1-0 to Hyde.
Second half, 50th minute and FC come again, Preston finds space to shoot… Saved again!
“Everywhere we go! We’re the Tigers boys making all the noise everywhere we go!” Hyde fans still in good spirits!
Not much happening in this half but FC really need to find something soon…
We’re into stoppage time now and FC have a corner and up comes the keeper… In it comes… Punched away but FC get it back into the box… Headed away and Hyde clear and break… They get into the box… Shot saved! Referee blows for full time! Hyde are through!

- The Ground: 8/10 – Great ground especially for the level! Stands at each end and bags of character!
- Expense: 8/10 – £14 is a bit steep for the level I think especially when the game lacked a bit of entertainment at times…
- Overall Experience: 6/10 – Great to tick this ground off but just wish for more in the game really.
