The Sunday double is back and we’re staying in the Chesterfield area, it’s time for Staveley Miners Welfare Ladies vs Eckington Belles! My second visit to Inkersall Road with the first one being a pre-season game between Staveley and Lincoln United Men’s teams which finished 5-3 to Lincoln, will the Ladies bring the same entertainment here today?
The short journey from Palterton to Staveley sees me here with over an hour until kick off. A familiar face here as my old work colleague Jemma is in goal for Staveley today! A quick catch up later and it’s time for them to get ready for the game.
Into the clubhouse I go for the rest of Motherwell vs Rangers… Rangers hold on for the win today, now it’s time for the ladies game! Free entry here today! Smashing!

44 minutes now and Staveley break down the right again, number 7 drives into the box and at goal and shoots… That’s a brilliant finish! Top corner! 5-0! Staveley are half way to double figures here at half time.
Second half, 1 minute into the second half and Eckington hit it long, Jemma comes for it and boots it… Off her own defender… But it’s cleared by Staveley this time unlike at Stoke… So close to lightning striking twice there!
