The Creek, a very simple name for a ground! It’s the home of Bristol Manor Farm based in Bristol and play their trade in Step 4 of the Non League Pyramid in the Southern League Division One South. Nicknamed the “Farm” I wonder why…?
So the out of office is on and a chance to get away and to get some movement on the counties challenge! Bristol is the chosen destination for Bristol Manor Farm vs Bishop’s Cleeve! So it’s onto the M1 to the A42 leading to the M42 onto the M5 and then to the M4 which sees me in Bristol for mid-day.
It’s a city I haven’t had the chance to explore until today and a strong recommendation of the 360 café and observatory by Clifton Suspension Bridge is on the cards along with a few Guinness bar recommendations.
Time rolls on and it’s time to get on the train towards Sea Mills for the game and here I am with the ground right on the train tracks.

Kick Off! “Farmy Army!” A bit of noise from the home crowd! A very slow start to the game with both teams offering little so far…
24 minutes in and Manor Farm get the ball into the box and here’s Lucas with the header… Parried by the keeper and Cleeve get it away. Good chance there!
33rd minute now and Bishop’s Cleeve come forward again, Toby Holland gets into the box on the left and he cuts inside, he shoots… He scores!!! Brilliant finish and Manor Farm are behind! 0-1!
A really poor first half of football ends 1-0 to Bishop’s Cleeve. Thankfully we have a goal!
Second half, 51 minutes now and here comes Aron Robbins for Manor Farm, he gets his shot away from just outside the box… Saved by the keeper!
64th minute and Manor Farm have it on the right, it’s played across to George Kellow… BANG! What a finish! He’s placed it right into the top corner and Manor Farm are level! 1-1!
3 minutes later and here come Manor Farm again, they play it across and the shot comes in from just outside the box… OH IT’S OFF THE POST! Manor Farm so close there to completing the turnaround!
74th minute and Manor Farm have a free kick just outside the box, George Kellow shoots… Brilliant save! Tipped over by the keeper and it’s a corner, in it comes… Cleeve clear.
Manor Farm continue to push for a winner… But it’s all square here in Bristol tonight.

- Atmosphere: 3/10 – The Farmy Army showed potential but I think the game dictated their noise tonight sadly… But a good group of fans nonetheless!
- The Ground: 6/10 – Not a bad setup! The 3 stands along the one side and the one stand on the other with nothing behind each goal and a train track next to it. It’s not too shabby and quite unique but I would prefer something behind the goals in all fairness.
- Expense: 7/10 – £10 for this level is a bit steep especially for a game like that.
- Overall Experience: 5/10 – All about the game tonight which was very underwhelming unfortunately but I’m glad I did it and it wasn’t too bad overall.
