A former make stay Football League club now languishing in the relegation zone of Step 2 of the Non League… The Darlington Arena proving too big and too expensive for the club years ago proving to be their downfall…
Tonight they face Warrington Town in the League so it’s on to the M1 leading to the A1 and into the ground with about 20 minutes till kick off. £15 for this! Hmmm…
Out come the teams, can relegation threatened Darlington start their escape?
Kick Off! 3 minutes in and it’s a bright start for Darlington, the ball falls for Hatfield who volleys at goal… Straight at the keeper!
11th minute and Warrington play down the left, Dixon has it on the edge of the box and he goes for goal… OFF THE BAR!!! So close!
4 minutes later and Darlington have it on the right and it’s played in, Jarrett Rivers is there… AND HE SCORES FOR DARLO!!! They lead!! 1-0!!
27th minute now and the Warrington keeper has the ball… He’s lost it and Moke runs for the ball… He’s put it in… But it won’t count! It looks like it went out for a goal kick there.
The first half dies down from there and at half time it remains 1-0 to Darlington.
Second half, 60th minute and Rivers has the ball in the box, he make space for the shot… Saved!
3 minutes later and here come Darlo again, Rivers is in and he goes around the keeper… OH! He’s somehow denied and Warrington live to fight another day.
89th minute now and Warrington have a free kick on the left, it’s played in… Keeper punches but it falls to Connor Woods who shoots first time… OH! He’s scored… Darlo couldn’t hold on… What a goal that was! Did the Darlo keeper need to punch that there…? 1-1!
Into Stoppage time now and Warrington play down the right, it’s crossed in towards WALKER… Brilliant save! Tipped over for a corner and here it comes… Darlo clear… And that’s it! 2 points dropped by Darlo…

- Atmosphere: 6/10 – Could be better on a better day I think, good at times but their league position speaks volumes.
- The Ground: 5/10 – I’m not the biggest fan unfortunately but the 2 stands are really good! A club of this stature should have a better ground in my opinion which hopefully they will in the next few years!
- Expense: 7/10 – £15 is a bit steep for this level and the game wasn’t the best…
- Overall Experience: 8/10 – Great to meet Jamie in the crowd tonight but a shame to see Darlo throw it away…
