My 4th visit to this ground but today its for the Ladies team who share the ground and play their trade in the Sheffield and Hallamshire Women’s League Open Age Division One.

Kick Off! Lovely to meet a photographer at the game today to watch her friend! Best part of the hobby strikes yet again!! And long may it continue! Its a slow start to the game here so far… Lets hope it picks up!
16 minutes in and Rotherham play it to number 14 who runs down the left wing, she drives into the box and plays it across to number 8 at the near post… She taps it home! 0-1! 3 minutes later and Rotherham play down the right, they play it across, it comes to number 8 who controls it and shoots… Keeper saves!
27 minutes now and Handsworth come forward, number 11 is played through and she’s in… She finishes! 1-1! Out of nothing! I wonder what the late Tommy Cooper would say about that goal on the balance of play…?
32 minutes on the watch and its a corner for Handsworth, keeper comes, it falls to number 6 in the 6 yard box and she volleys… wide! She should have done better there! 1 minute later and Rotherham play forward, number 5 is in… She’s hit the post and… The rebound comes back to the keeper. Massive opportunity there! 44th minute and Rotherham play it through to number 14, she’s onside and through on goal… Straight at the keeper! At half time the score remains 1-1.
Second half, 55th minute and Rotherham come forward down the right, number 20 receives it and runs into the box, she shoots… Good save by the keeper! Off balance but she gets a hand to it! Corner, in it comes… It’s hit straight out… 3 minutes later and Rotherham play it to number 14, she gets into the box and plays it across to number 8… Who finishes! 1-2!
Here comes the storm… Hope the Referee doesn’t stop play… Thankfully not as it has blown over! Phew! 72nd minute now and Handsworth play a ball from the right to number 12 running in, keeper comes out but she puts it wide. 82 minutes now and Rotherham play a ball from the left to number 14, she’s in… She scores! 1-3! That should be that! Play goes on and Handsworth can’t mount a fightback… A deserved win for Rotherham!
