Formed in 2011 as a gateway for the youth players at the club and have worked their way up the Nottinghamshire Senior League into Step 6! Not bad going!

Tonight they face Newark & Sherwood United who play in the league above West Bridgford. The last 3 games I have watched have all resulted in away wins. Will tonight continue that run? Let’s find out! 1 minute later and Newark have a free kick in a crossing position on the left from around 25 yards out, the cross comes in… Newark win the header… It’s going wide but here’s Nyle Blake to play it back across… West Bridgford get there and clear the danger.

Newark lead by 2 at half time.

Second half, 49th minute and Newark play a long ball forward towards Nyle Blake and he gets there in the box and he gets his shot away… OFF THE LINE! Blake gets it back and he plays it across to number 7 to shoot… Blocked! Number 7 gets to it and plays it across to number 11 in the box on the right to shoot… And score!! 0-3! That should be the game for Newark & Sherwood now!

61 minutes now and Newark come forward again, it’s played in to the new trialist number 9 in the box on the left and he shoots… In off the post!! It’s 4 for Newark & Sherwood! And a great trial for the new number 9! 0-4!

1 minute later and Newark play a long ball over the top, number 10 gets onto it and he gets into the box on the right, he goes for the far post… And he finds it! It’s another one!! How many are Newark & Sherwood going to get here? 0-7!

84th minute and Newark work it out right, it’s crossed in, it’s touched on to number 7 who turns and shoots… It’s 8… No it isn’t! He’s Offside! No goal! Newark continue to press but they will have to settle with 7.

Ratings

  • Atmosphere: 1/10 – Dead unfortunately…
  • The Ground: 3/10 – Very basic unfortunately… Club house is basic and there is only one stand with not much else here. It’s very spacious should they want to improve but nothing really else to comment on sadly.
  • Expense: 10/10 – Free entry with no fuel and 7 goals? Was it going to be anything else?
  • Overall Experience: 5/10 – Good to see 7 goals but it was a poor game at times and one way traffic pretty much.
