Ratings
- Atmosphere: 5/10 – Didn’t really get going until the second half but still pretty decent.
- The Ground: 8/10 – Very impressive and fit for the National League North in my book!
- Expense: 9/10 – £10 a bit much for this level but a good game nonetheless.
- Overall Experience: 9/10 – Really enjoyed that in the end and I’m glad I have ticked this ground off at long last!
31/40
They are called The Steelmen because the Stewart’s & Lloyd’s Steelworks dominated the town from 1930s to 1978 when it was massively scaled back and thousands lost their jobs.
The ground is called Steel Park to reflect this.
There were other choices like “The Furnace”, but in a supporters’ vote, steel Park was chosen.
