Cheadle Heath Sports Club, home of Cheadle Heath Nomads, based in Stockport, Greater Manchester and play their trade in Step 6 of the Non League Pyramid in the North West Counties League Division One South.
Monday nights are back and it’s a chance for a new tick not too far away! Cheadle Heath Nomads vs Alsager Town is happening and I will be there! So it’s over the peaks and not so far away to the M60 and off at Stockport and into the ground with around 15 minutes to kick off.
£6 to get in! Sweet! Now for a hot dog and Twix and there’s a few familiar faces! Andy & Dave are here! Out come the teams! It’s Monday night football again! Bring it on!
Kick Off! Alsager starting the better of the 2 teams so far but no real clear cut chances as of yet. 16 minutes in and Alsager have a free kick on the right, it’s played into the box… Alsager win the ball and it’s headed across goal and here’s Jordan Cobley… He couldn’t get enough on it and it’s out for a goal kick.
27th minute and Alsager have a corner, in it comes… Jordan Cobley with the header… He finds the net!!! Alsager have the lead! 0-1!
31 minutes now and Alsager come forward again, it’s a great move and Sean Tierney is played in… It’s absolutely SENSATIONAL!! Great move and a great finish! Alsager double their lead!! 0-2!
1 minute later and Nomads have the played the ball straight out for an Alsager corner, they’re capitulating here… In comes the corner… The header… Over!
38th minute and Cheadle are starting to show some signs of fight now, they have it on the right and it’s crossed in, the header… Wide! Better from Cheadle! At half time it remains 2-0 to Alsager.
Second half, 48th minute and Alsager play the ball into the middle from the left, it’s flicked on for Jordan Cobley who gets past the keeper… He plays it back for Sam Latham to shoot… Blocked out for a corner, in comes the resulting corner… It’s headed down and here’s Jordan Cobley… He’s scored again!!! 3 for Alsager!! 0-3!
53 minutes on the watch and Cheadle come forward now, Thomas Jones is played in… And he finishes!! Game on? 1-3!
59 minutes now and Alsager hit it long into the box, it’s headed on for Sean Tierney… He’s missed! Big chance there for 4!
3 minutes later and Cheadle have a free kick from around 30 yards out, Thomas Jones will shoot… Keeper saves!
79 minutes now and Alsager hit the ball across to the left, it comes for an Alsager man in the box on the left and he beats his man, he shoots… Keeper saves! Corner! In it comes… Cheadle clear.
89th minute and Alsager have another corner, in it comes again… it’s headed down and it falls for the shot on the turn… Just over!
Alsager run down the clock and prevent any other goals from Cheadle to win 3-1! Big win for them!

- The Ground: 5/10 – Not too much here but I do love the setting with the trees and buildings on the far side!

- Overall Experience: 5/10 – Great to see everyone tonight and it was an alright experience!
