My Wisewood U16s game has done and it’s now time for the drive home… PING! The Merry Miller has just let me know of a game between Dearne & District Ladies & Kiveton Park Ladies Development… DETOUR!!
Now to change the route on my Sat Nav and off we go! Arrival at the ground just in time! Free Entry to this one! Indisputable! The Merry Miller is here! Game on! Kick Off! 11 minutes in and Dearne & District have a corner, number 10 takes it for Dearne, in it comes… ALL THE WAY IN!!!! The Kiveton defender gets a touch on it but it’s well over the line and Dearne have the lead here! 1-0!
2 minutes later and Dearne play forward, a through ball is played to number 10 and she’s through on goal here, she shoots… She scores!!! 2-0! 2 for her! And Dearne are in cruise control so far! 30th minute now and Dearne’s number 10 is played through again, the keeper charges out… She hits it wide!
33 minutes on the clock and Dearne have a throw in on the right wing, played in, played back to number 7 who crosses into the box, it comes to number 9 who goes for the volley!! Over! Would have been a cracker if it went in!
37th minute and Dearne dispossess Kiveton Park in midfield and break forward, a chipped ball is played into number 10 who’s onside here, she bares down on goal and shoots… Off the bar!! Kiveton Park clear. 1 minute later and Kiveton Park come forward down the right, it’s played to number 24 running into the box, she shoots… Off the bar!! Goal kick! Dearne & District lead 2-0 at half time.
Second half, 50 minutes played and Dearne have a corner, in it comes… It’s a scramble! Dearne have it in the six yard box… Kiveton Park clear it but only to number 10, she gets past 1… Past 2 and shoots… Deflected wide! Another corner for Dearne, in it comes again… It comes for number 16 who shoots… It’s headed off the line! It comes to Dearne’s number 22 who chests it down… And volleys it home!!! 3-0!! Dearne looking really comfortable now!!
A poor half of football you have to say! Dearne have got their 3 goals and look comfortable but Kiveton are struggling to break them down in the final third. 75th minute and Kiveton Park come forward down the left, they get in a low cross, the keeper shouts for it… Doesn’t get there and it falls to Kiveton Park’s number 6… She doesn’t get a hold of it and the keeper does claim it this time.
80th minute and Kiveton Park come forward down the right wing, in comes the cross, Dearne clear but it comes to number 36 who shoots… She miss hits it and it goes wide. 85 minutes on the clock and Dearne’s number 10 has the ball played to her in the Kiveton Park half, 25 yards out and she goes for goal… And finds it!! What a strike!!!! Into the roof of the net! 4-0!! Dearne home and dry now!!
2 minutes later and Dearne win the ball back from a Kiveton Park goal kick, number 16 has it around 25 yards from goal and she goes for goal… And she finds it!!!! Another super strike!! And it’s 5-0!!!! 1 minute later and Dearne win the ball back in midfield, it’s played through to number 10 and she’s in on goal here… AAANNNNNNDDDD! Just like that!! 3 in 3 minutes!!! 6-0!!!
90th minute and Kiveton Park come down the left, they get the ball into the box, the shot at goal… Blocked! Number 40 slides for the loose ball… It goes wide! Kiveton park would ultimately fail to get on the score sheet today…

- Atmosphere: 1/10 – No noise from the crowd today sadly.
- The Ground: 4/10 – It doesn’t have a stand but I do like this little setup! I like the stone bollards all the around the pitch and I especially love the dug outs with the bus stands! I think they look fantastic as dugouts but I wouldn’t like them as stands… Great to see the trains go past as well!
- Expense: 10/10 – Free game for 6 goals isn’t scoring any lower!
- Overall Experience: 7.5/10 – I enjoyed today! Always love these Spontaneous trips especially at the last minute!!
