FC Sez

The Halbrooke Stadium, home of Eastwood Community based in Nottinghamshire. Also the home ground of FC Sez in the Nottinghamshire Senior League who tonight’s visit will be the subject of who tonight face Awsworth Villa. My second visit to this ground!

I have done commentary with Switch Sport before occasionally but only as a co-commentator. Tonight I am the main voice! No pressure! Eat your heart out Martin Tyler, Clive Tyldesley, Jon Motson, Peter Drury, Rob Hawthorn!

Live on Grassroots TV on YouTube with an 8pm kick off! So onto the M1 and off at Junction 27 and through Underwood into Eastwood with plenty of time to go before kick off! Free entry to this one! Press pass! The drone is ready but the players are still warming up.

Plenty of time to check connections and tech stuff. The teams are ready and out they come! It’s St Patrick’s Day here tonight, enjoy your Guinness! Who’s got the luck of the Irish tonight?!

Kick Off! 15 minutes in and Ethan Shipstone gets into the box on the right for Awsworth, he gets a shot away… Saved! Corner, played short and back to the taker… Offside!

2 minutes later and it’s James Lea down the left for Awsworth, he gets into the box and shoots… Wide!

25 minutes now and Awsworth play the ball back to the keeper to hit it forward… Oh no he’s hit it against Cameron Thurgood and he shoots… Keeper gets a hand to it… It’s off the line but Thurgood gets it back… And he finishes! 1-0! TAXI!! OH! It shouldn’t happen to a footballer…

1 minute later and Awsworth win it on the right, it’s played across to Kane Brady who shoots from the edge of the box… OH! Brilliant! Great strike and it’s level just like that! 1-1! That’s how you respond to going a goal down!

2 minutes after that and the game really has exploded into life now! Sez come forward down the left with Liam McCormack, he plays a 1-2 and gets it back in the box… The keeper gets there. Close!

42 minutes now and Jayden Jones-Robinson runs with the ball into the box on the left, he tries to pass across, he’ll get it back and he shoots this time… Deflected wide, why didn’t he shoot first time? Corner comes in… Cleared.

43rd minute and Sez have a throw in on the left, it’s played to Lynton Francis who runs through in the box on the left, he bares down on goal… Saved!

1 minute later and Sez play the ball forward, Liam McCormack gets there and he shoots from the edge of the box… It’s saved! Big chance there!

Right on half time and Awsworth play it forward to James Lea in the box… He’s brought down there! Penalty! Clumsy challenge there… Robbie Mannens to take… And he scores! He rolls it in and sends the keeper the wrong way! 1-2! And that is the last action of the half.

Second half, 56 minutes on the watch now and Awsworth play down the left, it’s played through to Ethan Shipstone in the box, he shoots… Wide!

61st minute and Sez play down the right, it’s played across low… OH! Brilliant defending there by Charlie Fennis but he’s collided with the keeper… Charlie Fennis is done for tonight through injury but the keeper will continue.

71 minutes gone and Sez with a long throw into the box, comes to Liam McCormack at the far post to volley… Good save! Sez think a defender handled it on the way through but they are not going to get it.

1 minute later and Sez with a long ball to McCormack on the left… And he finishes! He’s Offside! It will not count!

87th minute and Awsworth hit it long, keeper comes way out of his area… He’s lost it and Robbie Mannens gets there and gets past him and runs at goal… He doesn’t shoot and plays it across to Kane Brady to shoot… Good save! Why didn’t Mannens shoot?! Corner played short, it comes to Ben Watson who runs into the box on the left and plays it across, Ethan Onyini is there at the far post… And he tucks it away! Awsworth surely now with the 3 points! 1-3!

Into Stoppage time now and Lynton Francis is down the right and he gets into the box, it’s played across, Angelo Tambini slides in… It’s off the bar! The linesman has flagged! It’s a goal! And it’s not all over yet! 2-3!

Deep into Stoppage time now and Sez have a free kick on halfway, the keeper is up! It’s launched into the box… Headed out for a throw in on the left, it’s a long throw, it’s headed out for a corner, in comes the corner… Headed away again but it’s played back in… The Referee blows for full time! Awsworth with the luck of the Irish tonight on St Patrick’s day!
