Nicknamed the “Blues” which might give you a clue what colour they play in…? TGIF!!!! A big West Yorkshire derby here tonight as Ossett United make the short trip to South Elmsall! Ossett sitting in second place whilst Frickley sit in fourth place, a big derby tonight!!

£10 to watch this West Yorkshire derby! Kaboom! Great to once again see a good FANA Fan Podcast guest in Ken tonight! This time on home territory for him as he is the man on the mic here tonight! Good to also bump into Graeme who I met at Liversedge back in May! Everyone is here! “YOU BLUES!!” Ken and the Frickley faithful starting to turn up the volume now as kick off draws closer!!
Kick Off! 3 minutes in and Ossett come forward, the ball is flicked on to James Walshaw in the box and he’s got a big chance here! He shoots… Great save by the Frickley keeper! It’s a corner for Ossett, in it comes… Cleared by Frickley.
Ossett looking the better of the 2 teams here so far and are taking the game to Frickley. 20 minutes on the watch and Ossett play a long ball forward towards Reon Potts and he goes for the lob… It’s off target but Ossett retrieve it on the right hand side, it’s played into the box for Luke Hogg and the keeper comes for it… Hogg beats him to it and manages to get it across to Reon Potts… He’s got it!!!! 0-1!! And you have to say it’s been coming! Ossett fans delighted! Frickley have their work cut out for them now…
Frickley starting to come back into the game but are still to trouble the Ossett defence so far. 32nd minute and Ossett come forward again, the ball is played over the top for Nash Connolly with the keeper committed… Connolly gets to it and he’s got the goal at his mercy… He doesn’t miss… But the Referee has blown for a foul on the keeper and the goal won’t stand.
33 minutes now and Frickley get forward now, the ball is played forward to Kegan Everington and he gets into the box, he shoots… It’s a poor effort and the keeper claims comfortably. 1 minute later and Frickley come again and play a long ball to Joe Stacey on the left, the keeper charges out… Stacey gets there and gets around the keeper, tight angle! Stacey shoots… Keeper gets a touch and it hits the side netting. Corner for Frickley, in it comes… Cleared by Ossett.
39th minute and Frickley win a free kick on the left wing, “YOU BLUES!!” It’s played along the ground towards the edge of the box for Gianluca Bucci to shoot first time… Straight at the keeper. 42 minutes on the clock and Ossett play forward, the ball is with Reon Potts and he plays it through for James Walshaw… The Frickley keeper gets there. Frickley continuing to come forward in search for the equaliser but would not find it before half time with the score remaining at 1-0 to Ossett.
Second half, “YOU BLUES!!” The Frickley faithful’s spirit not dead yet!! 1 minute into the second half and Ossett come forward down the left hand side, it’s crossed in, Ossett flick on… Just wide!
The game has fizzled out with nothing to shout about, Ossett looking really comfortable here at the moment. 68 minutes on the clock and Frickley play a long ball forward towards Joe Stacey, he crosses, it’s blocked and out for a corner, it’s played along the ground into the box… Ossett get there and clear… Waste of a corner!
69th minute and Frickley come forward again, flicked on to Bradley Wells who charges into the box… He’s brought down there! But the Referee has waved it away… Ken furious! Frickley fans not happy! I wouldn’t be neither! A stone wall Penalty for me that!
74th minute now and Ossett work it forward, they get into the box on the left, played across goal to James Walshaw… He’s missed the ball completely and it rolls away… Should have done better there! 78 minutes now and Frickley play a good passing move in the Ossett half here! It’s played through to Joe Stacey on the left of the box and he shoots! It’s wide… Followed through there by the Ossett defender? Not for the Referee!
80th minute and Frickley are in search of the equaliser now, played out to Joe Stacey on the left wing, he crosses… Deflected cross… OH! So close to a Frickley head there! Ossett clear the resulting danger. 86th minute now and here come Frickley again, they get it back in midfield, it’s played forward, flicked on to Bradley Wells who’s in… He shoots… He’s put it wide… He has to do better there! “OH! OSSETT UNITED!” Ossett fans in good voice now! Frickley continue to press, but it just wasn’t meant to be for them tonight! Big win for Ossett!

- Atmosphere: 4/10 – A few chants here from both sets of fans tonight! Plenty of other noise as well!
- The Ground: 10/10 – It’s a phenomenal ground for me!! The stand is what makes it! Proper old school and it’s definitely a Football League standard stand! Great views from the top of the stand plenty of character all around the ground!
- Expense: 6/10 – £10 is ok for this level! But the poor second half is what has driven the score a bit down here…
- Overall Experience: 9/10 – I had a great time here tonight! Great to see Ken in action and great to see Graeme again! Me and Match Days Joe had a great time again as always! I would have loved to see Frickley win though!
