Kick Off! Fairbank starting the brighter of the 2 teams looking better on the ball. 5 minutes gone and Fairbank with the ball, the ball is played over the top to number 5 who’s in… Brilliant save by the Leeds keeper and out for a corner. Should have been 1-0! The corner is taken, and a header……. Off the line!! A bright start for Fairbank here!
Both defences looking good now as the attacking threat of both teams is very little making it look like a potential bore draw… Hopefully not a sign of things to come. 29 minutes gone and Leeds have the ball on the left, the low cross, in towards number 19… Good defending there by Fairbank helps the keeper claim the ball.
32 minutes on the clock and Fairbank have space down the right with number 7 who drives into the box, cuts inside and down he goes… No penalty given… Looked like it for me I must say.
42 minutes now and Fairbank with the ball in midfield. The ball is played long and finds number 9 with plenty of space in the box and he goes for goal… AND FINDS IT!! It’s not a bore draw anymore!! Great finish! Into the closing stages of the first half and Leeds have the ball on the left now and the cross comes in… So close!! Leeds number 13 just can’t get there and the ball goes out for a goal kick. That would be the last action of the half and the score remained 0-1.
Second half, Leeds fired up after the managers team talk! 5 minutes into the second half and they have a free kick in a good position, free kick taken… hits the wall and Fairbank half clear it, the ball played forward by Leeds to the striker in an offside position but number 14 for Leeds isn’t offside and he runs through with the Fairbank defence fast asleep… AND SCORES!! It’s 1-1!! Fairbank not happy but Leeds are! Especially the manager!! Game on!
52 minutes gone and Leeds have real confidence now. The ball goes out for a Leeds throw in and the Leeds defender is getting a different ball but the throw in is taken quickly with the defender off the pitch and they’ve got a man over here, Leeds down the right and the cross is played in to number 10… They’re in front!!! 2-1!! Silly mistake there by the Fairbank defender.
55 minutes and Leeds have the ball on the left now, Fairbank number 4 jumps in and fouls… Oh no he’s booted the ball back at him while he’s down and let’s get ready to rumble!!! Wrestlemania 2k21 is here… Not really Handbags 2k21 more like… But what is the Referee’s decision here? Yellow card… Red for me I’d say.
The Leeds momentum keeps coming, 3 minutes later and number 10 is through again… Saved by the keeper! 1 hour on the watch and number 7 for Leeds is away on the right again, he plays the ball in low for number 10 again!! He’s scored again!!! 3-1!! “Keep coming from behind all season but we can’t keep doing it!” The Leeds manager said to me on the touchline, I love non league! 5 minutes later and Fairbank have a corner, in it comes, the keeper has missed it… And a goal!! Number 14 at the far post to steer it in and it’s 3-2!! What game we have here!
73 minutes and a corner for Leeds, in it comes and cleared but Leeds work it back in, headed away again to number 6 on the edge of the box… OH MY WORD WHAT A VOLLEY!!!! How about that!! 4-2!! The Leeds team loved that one!! 3 minutes later and Fairbank have a corner, it comes in, the defenders have missed it and here’s number 7 for Fairbank!! Oh and he’s missed it… An absolute sitter! Plenty of space but he skies it!
An end to end affair now but no one can find that seventh goal. Into stoppage time now and Leeds come forward again, number 10 is through again… Saved but here’s number 13 for the rebound… Blocked again and the clearance is struck against number 13 and it falls to number 10, can he claim his hat-trick now? OH YES!! 5-2 and the Referee blows for full time! The Leeds management team thanked me for coming and told me they were at home next week, fantastic!

- The Ground: 1/10 – Just a field in a park which was also a bit hilly with no stands.
- Expense: 10/10 – Free Entry for a cracking game! Need I say more!
- Overall Experience: 8/10 – A great game and the friendliness of the Leeds management team made it all that sweeter!
