Kick Off! “Claret & Blue army!” Scunthorpe fans in good voice so far on the terrace! “And it’s HI HO SCUN UNITED!” Still in good voice so far! 14 minutes in and Orient have a free kick in the Scunthorpe half, it’s whipped in, headed straight back out to the kick taker, he whips it back in, Omar Beckles with the header… Wide! Not too far off there.
“All Scunny aren’t we!!” 21st minute and Orient play a ball down the right, it’s crossed in low, Aaron Drinan gets onto it… And he finds the net!! Orient lead! 0-1!!
27 minutes now, Aaron Drinan has it on the left, he beats his man and drives into the box… “OUT!” Cry the Scunthorpe fans! He plays it across to Harry Smith… Off the bar! The Referee stops play as the ball did go out for a goal kick.
It’s a poor game here so far you have to say… Scunthorpe really looking like a team with no ideas and making silly mistakes and Orient not showing much quality in the final third. Right on half time and Orient have a corner, in it comes… Scunthorpe head away and that is half time with Orient in front.
Second half, Scunthorpe straight out of the blocks and drive at Orient, they win a corner, they deliver the corner… It’s headed towards goal… The keeper collects. Better from Scunthorpe!
53rd minute now and Orient have a goal kick, lofted forward, Orient win it, played into the box for Daniel Kemp and he shoots… It’s wide! 3 minutes later and Orient are in again from a goal kick, ball flicked on for Aaron Drinan who’s in on goal… He’s scuffed it straight into the keeper’s grasp. Should’ve done better!
“Shoes off of you love Scunthorpe!” 63rd minute and Scunthorpe have a corner, The pyro is out on the Scunthorpe terrace now! No pyro no party! In comes the corner… It’s loose in the box, it falls to Jake Scrimshaw… HE’S SCORED!!! Right place at the right time!! And the terrace goes CRAZY!!!!!! 1-1!!
65th minute and Orient come forward, ball played to Harry Smith, he beats the Scunthorpe defenders and gets into the box to let fly… He’s hit the post!! Scunthorpe clear, big chance there!
1 minute later and here they come again, they have it on the right, crossed in towards the back post for Harry Smith again!! Oh it’s wide!! He’s missed again… Will Orient be made to pay here?
“Scunthorpe till I die!” Scunthorpe fans are alive again after equalising! Orient are looking good here and are pushing for the next goal. 76 minutes on the clock and here come Orient, a long ball is flicked on to Paul Smyth who’s running in on goal, he shoots… He’s put it over!
80th minute and Orient have the ball at the back… But they lose it and Scunthorpe pile on the pressure, a good passing move comes to Alex Perry on the edge of the box, he makes space for the shot… OH! Just wide!! So close!
82 minutes now and Orient break forward, a through ball to Paul Smyth who’s through on goal… The keeper comes out… He goes for the dink… He’s missed again… How many more are Orient going to squander!?
Orient continue to pile on the pressure but they must beware of the Scunthorpe break! We’re deep into stoppage time now and Orient lose the ball in the Scunthorpe half, they break forward, have we got time for one more chance here…? No we don’t as the Referee blows for full time.

- Atmosphere: 8/10 – A big group of young lads in the terrace gave it a real good go tonight and we’re fantastic!! Loved the pyro and the crazy celebration for the Scunthorpe goal!
- The Ground: 6/10 – It’s very basic and suits the level it’s at! I’m a big fan of standing terraces behind goals and I am of this one! Very close to the pitch as well which I love!
- Expense: 6/10 – £18 for this level is a bit questionable but I did enjoy the second half but not the first sadly…
- Overall Experience: 7/10 – I enjoyed the second half especially! If the game had carried on like the first I think we could have had a very low rating tonight… But in the end the game got better and so did mine and Match Days Joe’s night!! A Scunthorpe last minute winner away from being a 10!

Hope you had a good night here in Sunny Scunny. We are in a poor seam on the pitch, you might have easily scored 5 or 6. We got out of jail but it was a much needed point. A lot of our regulars are boycotting because of some things the Chairman has done, it’s a very sad state of affairs. See you at your place.
I’m amazed that Orient didn’t win! Scunthorpe need to figure something out big time, I’m worried for them this season! What has happened in recent years to Scunny? They were fighting at the top of League One in 2017!
