A Sunday game live on TNT Sports and it’s another York City away day with Gary and the gang! So for me it’s a short drive across to Markham Moor on the A1 to meet Gary and off we go down the A1 and a quick pit stop at Stibbington Diner. It wouldn’t be a trip without a café stop.
Back down the A1 we go, just past Elstree Studios and into the car park with around an hour to go before kick off. £11 to get in here! AMAZING! With the game being moved to Sunday and issues getting down here for York fans, Boreham Wood have given us all half price entry!
Out come the teams for their warm ups and it certainly is a cold one this afternoon… That’s the warm ups done and now the players are ready to play! Let’s hope for a Super Sunday here today!
Kick Off! 8 minutes in and Ndlovu has a chance for Boreham Wood, he gets to the edge of the box and he shoots… Straight at the keeper!
It’s a poor game in all fairness with little to shout about… York can’t seem to string 2 passes together and Boreham Wood are looking the more likely and damn it’s a cold one…
33rd minute and Boreham Wood have a free kick from around 25 yards out, Sousa will shoot… Over and out the ground!
44 minutes now and York come forward, the ball is played into the box towards Dipo Akinyemi who flicks it goal wards… Saved! At half time it remains 0-0.
Second half, 50th minute and York press forward, Akinyemi is brought down but advantage is played and Will Davies shoots from just outside the box… Keeper parries… And Boreham Wood clear the danger.
72 minutes now and Boreham Wood play down the left, it’s crossed in towards Ndlovu… He couldn’t quite get there but another man can to shoot… Blocked! It’s still loose and the shot comes in again… Blocked again! And again… Saved by the keeper! Close there for Boreham Wood!
83 minutes now and Chris Bush has it for Boreham Wood, 35 yards out and he goes for goal… Saved… OH NO! It’s bounced in… Not a strong enough hand on it by the keeper and Boreham Wood take the lead! 1-0!
Into added time now and York have a corner, it’s now or never! In comes the corner… Flicked towards the back post… Headed across… It’s headed goal wards… OH YES!!! IT’S THERE!!! YORK HAVE EQUALISED AT THE DEATH!! It’s Adam Crookes with the vital header! SCENES IN THE AWAY END!!! 1-1!
That’s the game! York snatch a point at the death! What a way to finish a cold afternoon in Hertfordshire!

- The Ground: 8/10 – Very nice ground albeit a cold one! Love the 3 stands in front of me but not a fan of the uncovered away end… Lovely ground though still!
- Expense: 10/10 – £11 for this level is amazing! Thank you Boreham Wood!
- Overall Experience: 9/10 – Boring at times but you can’t buy drama like that! Amazing!
