And we still have a few games left in the non league!!!! OH YEEEEAAAAHHHHH!!!!! It’s time for another Yorkshire Amateur League game today as Leeds City is the chosen destination and they play host to Littletown FC.
There sure is a lot of teams around these parts with the name “Leeds” in them! And there’s still more for me to visit! The train to Leeds from Sheffield and then the bus to Adel sees me arrive at the ground just in time for kick off!! Free Entry to this game! What a yes!!
Another game going on at the side! Let’s hope I pick the right game to watch!
Kick Off! Straight away and Leeds play a long ball to number 6 who running at goal, he gets it… OH! He can’t get his feet right and he scrambles it straight into the keepers hands… Should’ve been an early goal there! Straight up the other end now and Littletown win it back in midfield and play forward down the left, number 7 for Littletown is played through and he’s in… Good save by the keeper and Leeds clear the danger, what a start to this game!!
4 minutes in and Littletown have a throw in on the left, the shot comes in on the volley from 25 yards… Good save again by the keeper! Tipped over there and it’s a corner for Littletown. In comes the corner, number 5 is there… It’s wide!
8 minutes now and Leeds have a free kick just inside the Littletown half, the ball is lumped into the box, number 5 gets there and he’s got a sight of goal… Littletown defence get there and get it away from goal but only down the left flank, Leeds get it and cross, number 5 is there at the far post… He scores!!!! 1-0! 40 games without a 0-0 now!! A great header from number 5 and Leeds have the lead!
11 minutes on the clock and Leeds get the ball back in midfield, a through ball down the right, crossed into number 7, he controls it brilliantly and goes for goal… WHAT A FINISH!!!! 2-0!! He brings it down and goes for the toe poke and finds the bottom corner!! Great goal!
15 minutes now and Littletown win a corner, in it comes, number 5 is there at the far post… Off the line by Leeds, it’s not done yet as Littletown have the ball on the left, crossed back in, number 5 is free… OH! He’s headed just over… Big chance for Littletown to get back into it there!
19 minutes now and Littletown come forward, number 7 is played through, he goes around the keeper… The keeper gets a hand to it but number 7 gets it back… Shot blocked by Leeds’ number 5 and Leeds clear, another big chance there!
It’s becoming a very physical affair here with both teams flying into challenges. 35 minutes in and Leeds come forward down the right, it’s pulled back to number 2 and he goes for it… And finds the net!!! It’s 3!!! Another brilliantly placed finish and Leeds have daylight between them now!
42nd minute and Littletown have a free kick on the edge of the box, number 10 steps up and goes for power!!! Good save by the keeper! Corner for Littletown, in it comes, it’s number 5 with the header again!! Over! The score at half time remained 3-0!
Second half, 52 minutes gone and Leeds come forward, a long ball to number 10 who’s in, he’s offside but he doesn’t know it yet, he goes for the lob, off the bar and he heads home… He knows now and he’s not happy and neither are the Leeds bench… Can’t see from my angle but the goal is disallowed.
Littletown are starting to threaten the Leeds goal now, can they get back into this game? 62 minutes now and Leeds play themselves out of danger in their own half, a brilliant through ball is played and number 2 is in, he’s onside… OH NO! He’s hit the bar… Littletown clear! Should’ve easily scored there!
Tempers are starting to flare off the ball now… A word said between the Leeds defence and the Littletown frontline and the Referee needs to keep control of this game now! 79 minutes gone now and Littletown have a throw in on the left, played to number 9 and he cuts inside the box and goes for it… OOOH! Just wide! So close!
82nd minute now and number 6 for Leeds wins possession, he gets past 1, he gets past 2!! He’s through on goal now, the keeper comes out… What a goal this could be!!! OH! And Littletown manage to get there and clear!! A definite goal of the season contender if that had gone in for sure!!
88 minutes on the clock and Leeds clear a Littletown corner, Littletown have it in midfield, played forward to number 7, he makes space for the shot and goes for it 25 yards out… WHAT A GOAL!! Straight over the keeper and lands it in the bottom corner!! It may not count for much, but they will definitely win goal of the game!! No more action in this game and Leeds see the game through.
