Train to Peterborough from Sheffield and we are here! The walk to the ground now and the marching Derby fans are getting lively!! “You’re so quiet you sound like Nottingham!!” I’ve missed this! £24 to get into this one! I’ll take it!! The atmosphere is starting to build already!!! “Who are we! Blue army!!” “Everywhere we go! We’re the Boro boys making all the noise!”
Kick Off! “We’re the left side, we’re the left side we’re the left side of the goal! We’re the middle we’re the middle we’re the middle of the goal!” Peterborough fans letting us all know where they’re stood! It’s a poor start to the game with little to shout about so far… 15 minutes in and Derby come down the right hand side with Festy Ebosele, he works hard and gets a low cross in, Frankie Kent gets there for Peterborough to put it behind for a Derby corner, in comes the corner… Peterborough head away but only to Ravel Morrison on the edge of the box, he gives it to Graeme Shinnie on the right hand side to shoot… Straight into the keeper’s grasp.
21st minute and Peterborough come forward down the left, it’s crossed in towards Jonson Clarke-Harris at the back post… He heads over. 25 minutes now and Derby win a free kick on the right, it’s crossed in… All the way out… Peterborough fans loved that one!

And that’s the way we like it we like it we LIKE IT!” The atmosphere is still bouncing in the terrace here!! 32nd minute and Derby lose the ball in their own half, it falls to Jonson Clarke-Harris about 35 yards out, he goes for goal… Kelle Roos saves with his legs and manages to retrieve it. 43 minutes and Derby have a free kick in a crossing position, in it comes… Straight out for a goal kick and that sums up this first half sadly… The score at half time remains stalemate.
Second half, an injury to Derby’s Colin Kazim-Richards sees the game held up for a period of time, could be a significant amount of time added on at the end here. 56 minutes on the clock and Derby have the ball at the back, it’s played back to the keeper, Peterborough press… The clearance strikes the Peterborough man… Derby retrieve the ball and break forward, Ravel Morrison drives towards the Peterborough box and plays a ball forward… But it goes astray and out for a goal kick.
60th minute and Peterborough have a free kick on the right in a crossing position, in comes the cross… Headed away but Peterborough get it back on the left, it’s crossed in again… Nathan Thompson is there… It hits his shin and it goes back to the left with Peterborough still, it’s crossed in again, Nathan Thompson is there again… He heads over.
The game is starting to open up now and both sets of fans are going for it! 70th minute and Derby come forward down the left wing, it’s crossed in low and here’s Tom Lawrence sliding in… He can’t get there and it goes out for a goal kick.
76 minutes on the clock and Derby have a corner, in it comes… In towards Curtis Davies who heads it back into the crowd of players, headed away by Peterborough, Ravel Morrison wins it and heads it forward for Jack Stretton to strike… AND SCORE!!!! BANG! 0-1!! Limbs in the away end!
“IF YOU DON’T F***ING BOUNCE YOU’RE A RED!” Can Peterborough respond here? 88th minute and Peterborough come down the left, it’s crossed in low towards Jonson Clarke-Harris to stretch for it… He doesn’t get there… Goal kick.
“There will be a minimum of 11 minutes added time!” Didn’t think it was that long… Peterborough fans try and lift their team home! 1st minute of stoppage time and Peterborough lump it forward, it’s over everyone and Joe Ward runs onto it on the right and gets into the box, he plays it across goal for Harrison Burrows! Surely… YES!!!! He taps home from close range! And it’s 1-1!! Peterborough players grab the ball and put it on the centre spot, they’re going for the winner! They couldn’t could they!!?
“Since I was young! I followed them! PUFC! The team for me!” Stoppage time rolls on and Peterborough have a free kick in a dangerous position on the right of the edge of the box, Jonson Clarke-Harris steps up… OOOH! It’s just over… So close!
About 90+6 now and Peterborough come down the left again, crossed in low for Clarke-Harris… He can’t get there, goal kick. There can’t be long now surely about 100 minutes on the clock I make it but here come Peterborough again, Joe Ward has it on the right hand side, it’s crossed in low… Nathan Byrne doesn’t clear it and he gives it straight to Siriki DEMBELE!!! OOOOHHHHHHH!! IT’S THERE!!! GOOOOOAAAAAALLLLLLLL!!!! CARNAGE IN THE HOME END!!! I DON’T BELIEVE IT!!!! Peterborough have surely won it here!!! Dembele calmly finishes and it’s limbs in the home end here!!! HOW ABOUT THAT!!!!?
“OHHHHH SIRIKI DEMBELE!!!” The games rolls on, can Derby find an equaliser? They come forward but Peterborough clear… The Referee blows for full time!! A roar from the home fans!! What a turnaround!! Boy have I missed the Football League!!!

- Atmosphere: 10/10 – It was fantastic from the Peterborough fans in the terrace today! It was rocking throughout and at times deafening! The Derby fans gave a good account of themselves too!
- The Ground: 8.5/10 – I like this ground!! It’s a dying breed in the game! Wooden seats in the main stand with a standing terrace behind the goal! A nice ground!
- Expense: 10/10 – £24 is decent for the Championship and with drama like we had today! Worth every penny!!!
- Overall Experience: 10/10 – Drama like that at the end is why we love football!! It certainly made my day that!! Can’t buy it!!! Fantastic!!
